The Sugar Cane Growers Council through its association with WABCG applied for grant assistance for the Strengthening and Restructuring of the SCGC from Agricord. This application for assistance was considered under “organizational capacity building” initiatives of Agricord/IVA. Subsequently the SCGC benefited from an “organizational profiling” exercise done in October 2006. IVA Project Manager, Mr Patrick Eckloo accompanied by Ms Henelore Beerlandt arrived in Fiji under the grant assistance to carry out SCGC Profiling Workshop from 2nd Oct – 7th Oct 2006 following which the 2006 project number 4246D and 4246F, an agreement was signed between SCGC and IVA.

This project substantially helped improved the communication network within the SCGC head office and district offices. It is with the support of IVA that we have a website and the Council is highly grateful for the funding provided by IVA
