Cane Growers Disaster Relief Fund
The council took a resolution as the AGM in a April 2003 to establish a disaster relief education fund for the cane growers children. As sum on $30,000 was set aside from the savings of the council to begin with the project. First project to raise the fund was through the sale of calendars. Initially 10,000 calenders were printed in the year 2004 and $10,000 was targeted from the sales. As sum of $8,339 was raised from the sale of calendars in 2004 and 2005.

There after several growers children affected by natural disaster have been assisted through this fund.
